Article R122-1 of the French Intellectual Property Code

For the application of the provisions of d of 3° of Article L. 122-5, the catalogue of a sale of graphic or plastic works of art means copies of a list, illustrated or not, distributed before a sale by public auction, describing, with a view to informing potential buyers, the works that will be dispersed during the sale, as well as the conditions of the sale, and made available free of charge or at cost price to any person who requests it from the public or ministerial official conducting the sale.

Pour l’application des dispositions du d du 3° de l’article L. 122-5, le catalogue d’une vente d’oeuvres d’art graphiques ou plastiques s’entend des exemplaires d’une liste illustrée ou non, diffusée avant une vente aux enchères publiques, décrivant, en vue d’informer les acheteurs potentiels, les oeuvres qui seront dispersées au cours de la vente, ainsi que les conditions de celle-ci, et mis gratuitement ou à prix coûtant à la disposition de toute personne qui en fait la demande à l’officier public ou ministériel procédant à la vente.
