The health inspection referred to in 2° of I of article L. 1321-4 is carried out by the Regional Health Agency. It includes any operation to check compliance with legislative and regulatory provisions relating to the safety of water intended for human consumption.
It includes in particular:
1° Inspecting installations ;
2° Monitoring the health safety measures implemented;
3° Carrying out a water quality analysis programme.
The content of the analysis programme, the procedures for adapting it and the frequency of sampling and analysis are specified, according to the characteristics of the installations, by order of the Minister for Health.
The sampling locations are determined by decision of the Director General of the Regional Health Agency.
To enable it to define the health monitoring programme provided for in this article, the person responsible for producing or distributing the water shall inform the General Director of the Regional Health Agency annually of the volume of water distributed, in accordance with the transmission procedures defined by the latter.
For packaged water, the programme is that defined in article R. 1322-41.
