Article R1321-25 of the French Public Health Code

The person responsible for the production or distribution of water shall make available to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency the results of water quality monitoring and any information relating to water quality. It shall inform the Director General of the Regional Health Agency of any incident that may have consequences for public health.

Each year, the person responsible for producing or distributing water sends the Director General of the Regional Health Agency, who informs the Prefect as necessary, for production facilities and water distribution units serving a population of more than 3,500 inhabitants, a report on the operation of the production and distribution system, including in particular the monitoring programme defined in article R. 1321-23 and the work carried out, and indicates, for the following year, any changes made to this monitoring programme.

La personne responsable de la production ou de la distribution d’eau tient à la disposition du directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé les résultats de la surveillance de la qualité des eaux ainsi que toute information en relation avec cette qualité. Elle porte à sa connaissance tout incident pouvant avoir des conséquences pour la santé publique.

La personne responsable de la production ou de la distribution d’eau adresse chaque année au directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé qui en informe le préfet en tant que de besoin, pour les installations de production et les unités de distribution d’eau desservant une population de plus de 3 500 habitants, un bilan de fonctionnement du système de production et de distribution, comprenant notamment le programme de surveillance défini à l’article R. 1321-23 et les travaux réalisés et indique, pour l’année suivante, les éventuelles modifications apportées à ce programme de surveillance.
