Article R1321-3 of the French Public Health Code

Water intended for human consumption must comply with quality standards, covering microbiological, physico-chemical and radiological parameters, established for the purposes of monitoring water production, distribution and packaging facilities and assessing the risks to human health, set by order of the Minister for Health.

Les eaux destinées à la consommation humaine doivent satisfaire à des références de qualité, portant sur des paramètres microbiologiques, physico-chimiques et radiologiques, établies à des fins de suivi des installations de production, de distribution et de conditionnement d’eau et d’évaluation des risques pour la santé des personnes, fixées par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé.
