Article R1321-4 of the French Public Health Code

The measures taken to implement this section must not result, directly or indirectly, in :

– a deterioration in the quality, as recorded on the date of entry into force of these measures, of water intended for human consumption which affects human health ;

– an increase in the pollution of raw water used for the production of water intended for human consumption.

Les mesures prises pour mettre en oeuvre la présente section ne doivent pas entraîner, directement ou indirectement :

– une dégradation de la qualité, telle que constatée à la date d’entrée en vigueur de ces mesures, des eaux destinées à la consommation humaine qui a une incidence sur la santé des personnes ;

– un accroissement de la pollution des eaux brutes utilisées pour la production d’eau destinée à la consommation humaine.
