Article R1322-53 of the French Public Health Code

The construction of the premises must everywhere include an impermeable floor or a floor coated with substances that allow frequent washing. Walls and partitions must be coated with washable paint, preferably light-coloured.

Windows must be free of double curtains and the floor of any fabric carpet that is not easily washable.

La construction des locaux doit comporter partout un sol imperméable ou revêtu de substances permettant le lavage fréquent. Les murs et les cloisons sont enduits d’une peinture lavable, claire de préférence.

Les fenêtres doivent être dépourvues de doubles rideaux et le sol de tout tapis en tissus qui ne soit pas facilement lavable.
