As far as the premises and equipment are concerned, the spa establishment must include :
1° Essentially, a kinesiobalneotherapy department whose treatment stations must be equipped with conventional means allowing mobilisation under water.
To this service must be added :
a) Undressing cubicles, including some for patients lying down;
b) Bathrobe drying facilities;
c) Rooms with sufficient capacity to ensure that each patient being treated can rest for a suitable length of time;
d) An examination room which may be used as an emergency treatment room and which contains at least one examination table;
e) A storage room for wheelchairs and stretchers used to transport patients.
The use of swimming pools, and in particular the rate at which they are filled and drained, their disinfection and bacteriological control must be subject to strict regulations providing the essential hygiene guarantees.
They must be equipped with adequate safety equipment.
2° Possibly, a re-education room provided with equipment allowing individual mobilisation of patients.
Other premises or equipment provided in functional rehabilitation centres or services are optional here.
