I. – The purpose of food vigilance, known as nutrivigilance, is to monitor, assess and prevent the risk of undesirable effects linked to the consumption of the foodstuffs and foods mentioned in II of this article.
II. – Nutrivigilance is carried out on :
1° Novel foods within the meaning of Article 2 of Regulation (EU) No 2015/2283 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 November 2015 on novel foods ;
2° Foods to which substances for nutritional or physiological purposes are added within the meaning of Articles 1 and 2 of Regulation (EC) No 1925/2006 on the addition of vitamins and minerals and of certain other substances to foods;
3° Food supplements within the meaning of Article 2 of Decree No. 2006-352 of 20 March 2006 on food supplements;
4° Foodstuffs covered by Regulation (EU) No 609/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 June 2013 on foodstuffs intended for infants and young children, foodstuffs intended for special medical purposes and total daily ration substitutes for weight control.
