It is forbidden to keep and maintain animals of any species in communal areas of apartment buildings, or around or in the gardens of dwellings, which, due to their number, behaviour or state of health, are likely to constitute a danger or risk to the health or safety of persons or to the hygiene of the premises.
The number of animals reared may be limited and the distance between enclosures and shelters may be defined, taking into account the nature of the rearing or the proximity of dwellings occupied by third parties, under the conditions laid down in the first paragraph ofarticle L. 1311-2.
In all cases, facilities containing animals, in particular hutches, hen houses and pigeon houses, are kept in a constant state of cleanliness and maintenance, disinfected and disinsectised. Manure must be removed as often as necessary to avoid disturbing neighbours.
It is forbidden to systematically or habitually attract or feed animals, in particular pigeons and cats, when this practice is a cause of insalubrity.
