Article R1413-87 of the French Public Health Code

The regional antibiotic therapy centre is located in a healthcare establishment and may include several units located in other healthcare establishments in the region. It is appointed by the Director General of the Regional Health Agency, after consultation with the Director General of the National Public Health Agency, for a renewable period of five years, following a call for candidates on the basis of specifications defined by order of the Minister for Health. These specifications specify in particular the nature of the centres’ work and how it is to be organised.

The head of the centre is a qualified doctor specialising in infectious and tropical diseases.

Le centre régional en antibiothérapie est implanté dans un établissement de santé et peut comporter plusieurs unités hébergées dans d’autres établissements de santé de la région. Il est désigné par le directeur général de l’agence régionale de santé, après avis du directeur général de l’Agence nationale de santé publique, pour une durée de cinq ans renouvelable, après appel à candidatures sur la base d’un cahier des charges défini par arrêté du ministre chargé de la santé. Ce cahier des charges précise notamment la nature des travaux des centres et leur organisation.


Le responsable du centre est un médecin qualifié spécialiste en maladies infectieuses et tropicales.
