Article R1418-22 of the French Public Health Code

The duties of members of the Steering Committee, the Medical and Scientific Committee and the groups of experts are performed free of charge.

Where their attendance at meetings results in a loss of income, salaried members and self-employed members sitting on the Steering Committee or the Medical and Scientific Committee or in groups of experts, as well as experts from outside these bodies or groups, may receive compensation in the form of a lump sum.

Members of the bodies or groups of experts mentioned in the previous paragraph, as well as experts from outside these bodies or groups and appearing on a list drawn up by the Director General of the Agency, receive compensation in the form of lump-sum fees for the work, reports and studies they carry out. The maximum number of such fees and their amount are determined by a decision of the Board of Directors. The procedures for granting these allowances are laid down by decision of the Managing Director of the Agency after deliberation by the Board of Directors. The Managing Director of the Agency shall also set the number of hours worked by the members of these bodies, by the members of the groups of experts or by the external experts mentioned in this article.

In addition, the members of the Steering Committee and the members of the Medical and Scientific Committee and the groups of experts are entitled to reimbursement of travel and subsistence expenses under the conditions laid down in article R. 1418-10.

Les fonctions de membres du conseil d’orientation, du comité médical et scientifique et des groupes d’experts sont exercées à titre gracieux.

Lorsque leur participation aux séances entraîne une perte de revenus, les membres salariés et les membres ayant la qualité de travailleurs indépendants siégeant au conseil d’orientation ou au comité médical et scientifique ou dans des groupes d’experts, ainsi que les experts extérieurs à ces instances ou groupes peuvent percevoir une indemnité sous forme de vacations forfaitaires.

Les membres des instances ou des groupes d’experts mentionnés au précédent alinéa, ainsi que les experts extérieurs à ces instances ou groupes et figurant sur une liste établie par le directeur général de l’agence, perçoivent en rémunération des travaux, rapport et étude qu’ils réalisent des indemnités sous forme de vacations forfaitaires. Le nombre maximal de ces vacations ainsi que leur montant sont déterminés par une délibération du conseil d’administration. Leurs modalités d’attribution sont fixées par décision du directeur général de l’agence après délibération du conseil d’administration. Le directeur général de l’agence fixe également le nombre des vacations effectuées par les membres de ces instances, par les membres des groupes d’experts ou par les experts extérieurs mentionnés au présent article.

En outre, les membres du conseil d’orientation et les membres du comité médical et scientifique ainsi que des groupes d’experts ont droit au remboursement des frais de déplacement et de séjour dans les conditions prévues à l’article R. 1418-10.
