In each region, a regional health safety committee is consulted on the draft protocols drawn up between the prefects of the region’s departments and the regional health agency, and the conditions for their implementation.
This committee is also responsible for developing exchanges of information on the health situation in the region, the occurrence of events or risks likely to affect the health of the population and for coordinating, at regional level, the resources deployed by the Regional Health Agency to exercise the powers of the departmental prefects.
The Regional Health Safety Committee is chaired by the Regional Prefect. It brings together the prefects of the region’s departments and the Chief Executive of the Regional Health Agency. It meets at least once a year and, in particular in an emergency, at the request of one of its members.
The heads of the decentralised departments of the civil administrations of the State with regional competence may be involved, as necessary and at the request of one of its members, in the work of the Regional Health Safety Committee.
