Article R15-33-55-1 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

When the composition pénale includes the completion of an internship or training course provided for by 7° of article 41-2, the public prosecutor’s proposal specifies whether the course or training will give rise to costs to be borne by the offender. If this is the case, the amount of these costs may not exceed the amount of the fine provided for third-class offences.

When it consists of a road safety awareness course, the measure provided for in the previous paragraph may be carried out in accordance with the provisions of article R. 131-11-1 of the Penal Code.

In all cases, the offender must send the public prosecutor or his or her delegate a certificate attesting to the completion of the course or training.

Lorsque la composition pénale comporte le suivi d’un stage ou d’une formation prévu par le 7° de l’article 41-2, la proposition du procureur de la République précise si le stage ou la formation donne lieu à engagement de frais mis à la charge de l’auteur des faits. Si tel est le cas, le montant de ces frais ne peut excéder celui du montant de l’amende prévue pour les contraventions de la troisième classe.

Lorsqu’elle consiste en un stage de sensibilisation à la sécurité routière, la mesure prévue à l’alinéa précédent peut être exécutée conformément aux dispositions de l’article R. 131-11-1 du code pénal.

Dans tous les cas, l’auteur des faits adresse au procureur de la République ou à son délégué une attestation de stage ou de formation, après que celui-ci ou celle-ci a été accompli.
