Article R15-33-64 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

If the proposed settlement is approved, the mayor sends or gives the offender a document informing him of this approval, specifying the amount of compensation to be paid or the terms of performance of the unpaid work as well as the deadline for completion of the settlement.

Otherwise, the mayor communicates the decision of the judicial authority to the offender.

Si la proposition de transaction est homologuée, le maire adresse ou remet au contrevenant un document l’informant de cette homologation, en précisant le montant de la réparation à payer ou les modalités d’exécution du travail non rémunéré ainsi que le délai d’exécution de la transaction.

Dans le cas contraire, le maire communique la décision de l’autorité judiciaire au contrevenant.
