Article R2151-13 of the French Public Health Code

Any organisation that imports or exports embryonic stem cells must be able to certify that they have been obtained in compliance with the principles mentioned in Articles 16 to 16-8 of the Civil Code, with the prior consent of the persons mentioned in Article R. 2151-4, at the origin of the embryo that was conceived in the context of medically assisted procreation and is no longer the subject of a parental project, and without any payment, of whatever form, having been allocated to these persons.

Tout organisme qui importe ou exporte des cellules souches embryonnaires doit être en mesure d’attester qu’elles ont été obtenues dans le respect des principes mentionnés aux articles 16 à 16-8 du code civil, avec le consentement préalable des personnes mentionnées à l’article R. 2151-4, à l’origine de l’embryon qui a été conçu dans le cadre d’une assistance médicale à la procréation et ne fait plus l’objet d’un projet parental, et sans qu’aucun paiement, quelle qu’en soit la forme, n’ait été alloué à ces personnes.
