The application for authorisation of an embryo research protocol shall be sent to the Director General of the Agence de la biomédecine by any means capable of establishing a date of receipt. This application must be accompanied by a dossier containing all the information required to verify that the legal conditions have been met, the form and content of which are laid down by decision of the Director General of the Agency.
After checking the admissibility of the application for authorisation, the Agence de la biomédecine acknowledges receipt. Where the required documents or information are missing, the Agency will set the deadline by which they must be supplied.
The Director General of the Agence de la biomédecine notifies the applicant establishment or organisation of the decision to authorise or refuse authorisation. If the Director General remains silent on the application for four months, this will be deemed to constitute an implicit decision to refuse authorisation.
The Director General’s decision granting authorisation for the research will state the name of the person responsible for the research. This decision is published in the official bulletin of the Ministry of Health.
