Article R221-121 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

I. – An institution to which an application to open a Livret A passbook account has been made by a person referred to in article L. 221-3 shall remind the applicant that he or she may hold only one Livret A passbook account and of the penalties provided for inarticle 1739 A of the General Tax Code for failure to comply with this obligation.

II. – The contract to open a Livret A passbook account provided for in article R. 221-1 sets out the same requirements and the penalties incurred if they are not met. It also informs the customer of the procedures for carrying out the verification procedure provided for in article L. 221-38.

III. – The stipulations that must be included in the Livret A account opening contract and the information that may be requested from the customer are specified by order of the ministers responsible for the economy and the budget.

I. – L’établissement saisi d’une demande d’ouverture d’un livret A par une personne mentionnée à l’article L. 221-3 lui rappelle qu’elle ne peut détenir qu’un seul livret A ainsi que les sanctions prévues par l’article 1739 A du code général des impôts qui s’attachent à la méconnaissance de cette obligation.

II. – Le contrat d’ouverture d’un livret A prévu à l’article R. 221-1 rappelle les mêmes exigences ainsi que les sanctions encourues à raison de leur méconnaissance. Il informe également le client des modalités selon lesquelles s’effectue la procédure de vérification prévue à l’article L. 221-38.

III. – Les stipulations devant figurer dans le contrat d’ouverture d’un livret A ainsi que les informations pouvant être demandées au client sont précisées par arrêté des ministres chargés de l’économie et du budget.
