Article R221-4 of the French Monetary and Financial Code

The interest paid to depositors on Livret A savings accounts is set by order of the Minister for the Economy.

Interest paid to depositors starts on the 1st or 16th of each month after the day of deposit. It ceases to accrue at the end of the fortnight preceding the day of repayment. On 31 December of each year, the interest earned is added to the capital and itself becomes interest-bearing.

Article R221-4
