Article R222-24 of the French Code of civil enforcement procedures

If the holder claims a right of his own to the seized property, he shall inform the bailiff of this by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, unless he made a declaration to this effect at the time of the seizure. Within one month, it is up to the distrainor to bring the dispute before the enforcement judge in the place where the holder lives. Failing this, the unavailability ceases.
The property remains unavailable during the proceedings.

Si le détenteur se prévaut d’un droit propre sur le bien saisi, il en informe l’huissier de justice par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception à moins qu’il n’en ait fait la déclaration au moment de la saisie. Dans le délai d’un mois, il appartient au saisissant de porter la contestation devant le juge de l’exécution du lieu où demeure le détenteur. A défaut, l’indisponibilité cesse.
Le bien demeure indisponible durant l’instance.
