Article R23-3 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

If the person prosecuted is finally sentenced to pay damages, the public prosecutor shall inform the civil party of the existence of the bond and indicate the formalities to be completed to obtain payment by the Caisse des dépôts et consignations of the sums owed to it, increased, where applicable, by accrued interest.

En cas de condamnation définitive de la personne poursuivie au paiement de dommages et intérêts, le procureur de la République informe la partie civile de l’existence du cautionnement et lui indique les formalités à accomplir pour obtenir le versement par la Caisse des dépôts et consignations des sommes qui lui sont dues, augmentées, le cas échéant, des intérêts échus.
