Article R2316-1 of the French Labour Code

Unless there is an agreement between the employer and all the representative trade union organisations, the number of members of the central social and economic committee may not exceed twenty-five full members and twenty-five alternate members.

Unless stipulated otherwise in the agreement referred to in the first paragraph and within the limits set in that paragraph, each establishment may be represented on the Central Social and Economic Committee either by a single full or alternate delegate, or by one or two full delegates and one or two alternate delegates.

Sauf accord conclu entre l’employeur et l’ensemble des organisations syndicales représentatives, le nombre des membres du comité social et économique central ne peut dépasser vingt-cinq titulaires et vingt-cinq suppléants.

Sauf stipulation de l’accord mentionné au premier alinéa organisant cette représentation et dans les limites fixées à cet alinéa, chaque établissement peut être représenté au comité social et économique central soit par un seul délégué, titulaire ou suppléant, soit par un ou deux délégués titulaires et un ou deux délégués suppléants.
