Article R24-9 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In the event that the person prosecuted is definitively sentenced to pay damages, the public prosecutor shall send each of the civil parties a copy of the documents attesting to the constitution and, where applicable, the publication of the sureties.

Where the sureties have been constituted in the name of a provisional beneficiary, the civil party or parties, definitive beneficiaries of the sureties established for their benefit, shall inform the latter and, where applicable, the guarantor or the holder of the property that is the subject of the surety.

The formalities for amending publicity shall be carried out at the civil parties’ own expense.

En cas de condamnation définitive de la personne poursuivie au paiement de dommages et intérêts, le procureur de la République adresse à chacune des parties civiles une copie des documents attestant de la constitution et, le cas échéant, de la publicité des sûretés.

Lorsque les sûretés ont été constituées au nom d’un bénéficiaire provisoire, la ou les parties civiles, bénéficiaires définitives des sûretés établies à leur profit, en informent celui-ci et, le cas échéant, la caution ou le détenteur du bien objet de la sûreté.

Les formalités de publicité modificatives sont accomplies à la diligence des parties civiles.
