Article R2524-6 of the French Labour Code

When one of the members of the Superior Court of Arbitration loses the capacity for which he was appointed, his successor shall be appointed by decree. The successor shall remain in office until the expiry of the normal term of office of the member replaced.
In the event of a vacancy arising from death or resignation, the appointment procedure is identical.

Lorsque l’un des membres de la Cour supérieure d’arbitrage vient à perdre la qualité en raison de laquelle il a été nommé, il est procédé par décret à la désignation de son successeur. Le successeur reste en fonctions jusqu’à expiration de la durée normale des fonctions du membre remplacé.
En cas de vacance par suite de décès ou de démission, la procédure de désignation est identique.
