Article R3115-4 of the French Public Health Code

The tasks of border health checks include :

1° Checking the hygiene rules at the points of entry mentioned in article R. 3115-6 and the points of entry into the territory mentioned in articles R. 3115-16 and R. 3115-17, in particular monitoring vectors and reservoirs of pathogenic agents;

2° Health checks on means of transport;

3° Health checks on travellers;

4° Preparing for and responding to public health emergencies at the points of entry mentioned in article R. 3115-6 and at the points of entry to the territory mentioned in articles R. 3115-16 and R. 3115-17.

Health checks at borders are carried out under the authority of the Prefect.

Article R3115-4

Les missions du contrôle sanitaire aux frontières comprennent :

1° Le contrôle des règles d’hygiène des points d’entrée mentionnés à l’article R. 3115-6 et des points d’entrée du territoire mentionnés aux articles R. 3115-16 et R. 3115-17, notamment la surveillance des vecteurs et des réservoirs d’agents pathogènes ;

2° Le contrôle sanitaire des moyens de transport ;

3° Le contrôle sanitaire des voyageurs ;

4° La préparation et la réponse aux urgences de santé publique au niveau des points d’entrée mentionnés à l’article R. 3115-6 et des points d’entrée du territoire mentionnés aux articles R. 3115-16 et R. 3115-17.

Les missions du contrôle sanitaire aux frontières sont réalisées sous l’autorité du préfet.
