Article R3354-6 of the French Public Health Code

The clinical medical examination and blood test shall be carried out as soon as possible after the offence or accident. Except in the case provided for in article R. 3354-10, this period shall not exceed six hours.

If it is not possible to carry out the medical examination or blood test in good time, this fact shall be noted in the official report.

L’examen clinique médical et la prise de sang sont effectués dans le plus court délai possible après l’infraction ou l’accident. Sauf le cas prévu à l’article R. 3354-10, ce délai ne dépasse pas six heures.

S’il ne peut y être procédé en temps utile, mention de cette circonstance est portée au procès-verbal.
