The Mayotte fire and rescue service comprises operational, administrative or technical services, in particular those responsible for prevention, forecasting, logistics and technology, human resources, training, administration and finance. It also includes a health and medical rescue service.
The territorial organisation of the Mayotte fire and rescue service takes into account the risk analysis and coverage plan. It comprises fire and rescue centres that are classified into main rescue centres and rescue centres.
These services and centres may be organised within groups that carry out operational, administrative or technical missions under the conditions set by the operational regulations mentioned in article R. 3551-5 and by the internal regulations of the Mayotte fire brigade mentioned in article R. 3551-6-5.
The Mayotte fire and rescue service includes professional firefighters belonging to the employment frameworks provided for in article 64-1 of law n° 2001-616 of 11 July 2001 relating to Mayotte and volunteer firefighters who, subject to specific rules laid down pursuant to Law No. 96-370 du 3 mai 1996 relative au développement du volontariat dans les corps de sapeurs-pompiers, ne peuvent exercer cette activité à temps plein.
