Article R40-51 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

The national platform for judicial interception is implemented by a department with national competence reporting to the Minister of Justice, called the “Agence nationale des techniques d’enquêtes numériques judiciaires” (National Agency for Judicial Digital Investigation Techniques). This department is headed by a judicial magistrate and reports to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice.
The National Agency for Judicial Digital Investigation Techniques is responsible for compiling and storing the data and information placed under seal within the processing system. Requests for the establishment and issue of reproductions of these seals shall be forwarded by the magistrate or court clerk to the director of the agency or to the person designated by him.

La plate-forme nationale des interceptions judiciaires est mise en œuvre par un service à compétence nationale relevant du garde des sceaux, ministre de la justice, dénommé : “ Agence nationale des techniques d’enquêtes numériques judiciaires ”. Ce service dirigé par un magistrat de l’ordre judiciaire est rattaché au secrétaire général du ministère de la justice.


La constitution et la conservation des données et informations placées sous scellés au sein du traitement relèvent de l’Agence nationale des techniques d’enquêtes numériques judiciaires. Les demandes tendant à l’établissement et à la délivrance des reproductions de ces scellés sont transmises par le magistrat ou le greffier au directeur de l’agence ou à la personne désignée par lui.
