I.-Subject to the provisions of article L. 4021-3-1, for each profession or speciality, a continuing professional development pathway is defined, in application of article L. 4021-3, by the competent national professional council. This pathway :
1° Describes the sequence of continuing training, analysis, evaluation and improvement of practices and risk management actions deemed necessary by the profession in order to maintain and update knowledge and skills and improve practices ;
2° Constitutes a recommendation for each professional in order to meet their three-year continuing professional development obligation.
II – In order to fulfil their obligation of continuing professional development, health professionals :
1° Either complies with the recommendation mentioned in I ;
2° Or provides evidence over a period of three years of :
a) either that he is committed to an accreditation process ;
b) Or of its commitment to a continuous professional development process involving training, assessment and improvement of practices and risk management. The approach must include at least two of these three types of action and at least one action in line with the priority guidelines set out in article L. 4021-2.
They may use training courses organised by the university that they have attended.
III – The actions mentioned in II may be taken independently or together as part of the same programme.
They must comply with one of the methods and procedures validated by the Haute Autorité de santé. Actions within the scope of the priority guidelines must be implemented by a continuing professional development body or structure registered in accordance with the provisions of article R. 4021-24.
IV -The competent national professional council or, for healthcare professionals covered by the provisions of article L. 4138-2 of the Defence Code, the armed forces health service, will certify, at the healthcare professional’s request, the actions it has recommended for his or her profession or speciality.
