Article R4127-13 of the French Public Health Code

When the doctor participates in a public information campaign of an educational, scientific or health nature, whatever the means of dissemination, he or she will only report confirmed data, will exercise caution and will be concerned about the repercussions of his or her comments on the public. They do not intend to profit from their contribution in the context of their professional activity, nor to benefit the organisations in which they work or to which they lend their assistance, nor to promote a cause that is not of general interest.

Lorsque le médecin participe à une action d’information du public à caractère éducatif, scientifique ou sanitaire, quel qu’en soit le moyen de diffusion, il ne fait état que de données confirmées, fait preuve de prudence et a le souci des répercussions de ses propos auprès du public. Il ne vise pas à tirer profit de son intervention dans le cadre de son activité professionnelle, ni à en faire bénéficier des organismes au sein desquels il exerce ou auxquels il prête son concours, ni à promouvoir une cause qui ne soit pas d’intérêt général.
