Article R4127-256 of the French Public Health Code

No one may be both expert dental surgeon and treating dental surgeon for the same patient.

Unless the parties agree otherwise, the dental surgeon must not accept an expert mission in which the interests of one of his clients, one of his friends, one of his relatives, one of his associates, or a group that calls on his services are at stake. The same applies when his own interests are at stake.

Nul ne peut être à la fois chirurgien-dentiste expert et chirurgien-dentiste traitant d’un même patient.

Sauf accord des parties, le chirurgien-dentiste ne doit pas accepter une mission d’expertise dans laquelle sont en jeu les intérêts d’un de ses clients, d’un de ses amis, d’un de ses proches, d’un de ses associés, d’un groupement qui fait appel à ses services. Il en est de même lorsque ses propres intérêts sont en jeu.
