Article R4127-271 of the French Public Health Code

Any professional activity of a practitioner who, in addition to his main activity, carries out additional work either as an assistant to a colleague, or in the service of a public or private body, particularly in hospital or university hospital departments, or as a manager, is considered to be ancillary work.

For the purposes of this Code of Deontology, secondary practice is considered to be ancillary practice.

Toute activité professionnelle d’un praticien qui, en sus de son activité principale, exerce à titre complémentaire soit comme adjoint d’un confrère, soit au service d’une collectivité publique ou privée, notamment dans les services hospitaliers ou hospitalo-universitaires, soit comme gérant, est considérée comme un exercice annexe.

Pour l’application du présent code de déontologie, l’exercice en cabinet secondaire est considéré comme un exercice annexe.
