Article R4127-314 of the French Public Health Code

Midwives must refrain from exposing their patients or their children to any unjustified risk in the investigations or procedures they carry out or in the treatments they prescribe.

The midwife may not propose to patients or their families, as beneficial or effective, remedies or procedures that have not been sufficiently validated scientifically.

La sage-femme doit s’interdire dans les investigations ou les actes qu’elle pratique comme dans les traitements qu’elle prescrit de faire courir à sa patiente ou à l’enfant un risque injustifié.

La sage-femme ne peut proposer aux patientes ou à leur entourage, comme salutaires ou efficaces, des remèdes ou des procédés insuffisamment validés sur le plan scientifique.
