Once she has agreed to respond to a request, the midwife undertakes to personally provide the care required by the patient and the new-born child, in accordance with current scientific data, with the utmost conscientiousness and devotion.
Except in cases of force majeure, in particular in the absence of a doctor or to deal with an urgent danger, the midwife must call in a doctor when the care to be given is beyond her professional competence or when the family so requires.
