Article R4127-341 of the French Public Health Code

Midwives shall comply with the provisions of articles L. 1111-3-2 and L. 1111-3-3 with regard to informing patients of the costs of their services and the conditions for reimbursement and waiver of advance payment of such costs.

A midwife who presents her activity to the public, in particular on a website, must include information on the fees charged, the methods of payment accepted and the obligations laid down by law to allow everyone access to prevention or care without discrimination. The information must be clear, honest, accurate and non-comparative.

The midwife must ensure that the patient is informed of the amount of the fees as soon as the appointment is made.

A midwife is never entitled to refuse an explanation of her fees.

No fees may be charged for advice given to a patient by telephone or by correspondence, subject to the provisions relating to telemedicine.

When midwives collaborate with each other or with doctors on an examination or treatment, their bills must be personal and separate.

La sage-femme se conforme aux dispositions des articles L. 1111-3-2 et L. 1111-3-3 en ce qui concerne l’information de la patiente sur les frais afférents à ses prestations et aux conditions de prise en charge et de dispense d’avance de ces frais.

La sage-femme qui présente son activité au public, notamment sur un site internet, doit y inclure une information sur les honoraires pratiqués, les modes de paiement acceptés et les obligations posées par la loi pour permettre l’accès de toute personne à la prévention ou aux soins sans discrimination. L’information doit être claire, honnête, précise et non comparative.

La sage-femme veille à ce que la patiente soit informée du montant des honoraires dès la prise de rendez-vous.

Une sage-femme n’est jamais en droit de refuser des explications sur sa note d’honoraires.

L’avis ou le conseil dispensé à une patiente par téléphone ou par correspondance ne peut donner lieu à aucun honoraire, sous réserve des dispositions relatives à la télémédecine.

Lorsque des sages-femmes collaborent entre elles ou avec des médecins à un examen ou un traitement, leurs notes d’honoraires doivent être personnelles et distinctes.
