Article R4127-47 of the French Public Health Code

Whatever the circumstances, continuity of patient care must be ensured.

Except in emergencies and when failing in their duty of humanity, doctors have the right to refuse care for professional or personal reasons.

If he does so, he must inform the patient and provide the doctor designated by the patient with the information required to continue the treatment.

Quelles que soient les circonstances, la continuité des soins aux malades doit être assurée.

Hors le cas d’urgence et celui où il manquerait à ses devoirs d’humanité, un médecin a le droit de refuser ses soins pour des raisons professionnelles ou personnelles.

S’il se dégage de sa mission, il doit alors en avertir le patient et transmettre au médecin désigné par celui-ci les informations utiles à la poursuite des soins.
