Article R4127-64 of the French Public Health Code

When several doctors collaborate in the examination or treatment of a patient, they must keep each other informed; each practitioner assumes his personal responsibilities and ensures that the patient is kept informed.

Each doctor is free to refuse or withdraw his assistance, provided that he does not harm the patient and that he informs his colleagues.

Lorsque plusieurs médecins collaborent à l’examen ou au traitement d’un malade, ils doivent se tenir mutuellement informés ; chacun des praticiens assume ses responsabilités personnelles et veille à l’information du malade.

Chacun des médecins peut librement refuser de prêter son concours, ou le retirer, à condition de ne pas nuire au malade et d’en avertir ses confrères.
