The university hospital centres devote a minimum percentage of 0.50% of their doctors’ remuneration, within the meaning of article L. 242-1 of the social security code, to the financing of continuing professional development initiatives for the doctors they employ.
Other public health establishments devote a minimum percentage of 0.75% of their doctors’ remuneration, within the meaning of article L. 242-1 of the Social Security Code, to the financing of continuing professional development initiatives for the doctors they employ.
The continuing professional development activities of civil servant and contractual doctors employed by the State and local authorities are financed within the framework of the credits provided for by the legislation relating to each of these civil services.
Continuing professional development initiatives for doctors employed in the private sector are financed under the conditions set out in article L. 6331-1 of the French Labour Code .
Public and private sector employers may discharge all or part of the obligation set out in the previous paragraphs by paying all or part of the sums thus calculated to an approved joint collecting body for their professional branch or field of activity or to the approved body mentioned in article 16 of order no. 2005-406 of 2 May 2005 simplifying the legal regime for health establishments.
The continuing professional development management body may enter into agreements with the approved collecting bodies governed by Chapter II of Title III of Book III of Part Six of the Labour Code or with the approved body mentioned in Article 16 of the aforementioned Order no. 2005-406 of 2 May 2005 simplifying the legal status of health establishments, in order to contribute to the financing of the continuing professional development of doctors.
