Article R4215-13 of the French Labour Code

Premises or locations reserved for the production, conversion or distribution of electricity, known as electrical service premises or locations, are designed and built in such a way as to ensure both:

1° Accessibility to equipment and ease of movement;

2° Protection against electric shock;

3° Prevention of the risk of burns and fire;

4° Prevention of the risk of the appearance of a toxic or asphyxiating atmosphere caused by the emission of gases or vapours in the event of an incident involving the operation of electrical equipment;

5° Emergency lighting.

Les locaux ou emplacements réservés à la production, la conversion ou la distribution de l’électricité, appelés locaux ou emplacements de service électrique, sont conçus et réalisés de façon à assurer tout à la fois :


1° L’accessibilité aux matériels et l’aisance de déplacement et de mouvement ;


2° La protection contre les chocs électriques ;


3° La prévention des risques de brûlure et d’incendie ;


4° La prévention des risques d’apparition d’atmosphère toxique ou asphyxiante causée par l’émission de gaz ou de vapeurs en cas d’incident d’exploitation des matériels électriques ;


5° L’éclairage de sécurité.
