Article R4216-2 of the French Labour Code

Buildings and premises must be designed and constructed in such a way as to allow, in the event of a disaster :

1° the rapid evacuation of all occupants or their delayed evacuation, where this is made necessary, in conditions of maximum safety ;

2° Access from outside and intervention by the emergency services and fire-fighters;

3° Limiting the spread of fire inside and outside buildings.

Les bâtiments et les locaux sont conçus et réalisés de manière à permettre en cas de sinistre :


1° L’évacuation rapide de la totalité des occupants ou leur évacuation différée, lorsque celle-ci est rendue nécessaire, dans des conditions de sécurité maximale ;


2° L’accès de l’extérieur et l’intervention des services de secours et de lutte contre l’incendie ;


3° La limitation de la propagation de l’incendie à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur des bâtiments.
