Article R4216-6 of the French Labour Code

The corridors of buildings and premises are subject to the provisions of articles R. 4227-4 to R. 4227-14 with the exception of articles R. 4227-5 and R. 4227-12.
However, for the application of the provisions of article R. 4227-10, the width of the stairs to be taken into account is at least equal to two passage units, within the meaning of article R. 4216-5.

Les dégagements des bâtiments et locaux obéissent aux dispositions des articles R. 4227-4 à R. 4227-14 à l’exception des articles R. 4227-5 et R. 4227-12.
Toutefois, pour l’application des dispositions de l’article R. 4227-10, la largeur des escaliers à prendre en compte est au moins égale à deux unités de passage, au sens de l’article R. 4216-5.
