Article R4224-16 of the French Labour Code

In the absence of nurses, or when there are not enough of them to ensure a permanent presence, the employer shall, after consulting the occupational physician, take the necessary measures to provide first aid to accident victims and the sick. These measures, which are taken in liaison with the emergency services outside the company, are adapted to the nature of the risks.

These measures are recorded in a document kept at the disposal of the labour inspector.

En l’absence d’infirmiers, ou lorsque leur nombre ne permet pas d’assurer une présence permanente, l’employeur prend, après avis du médecin du travail, les mesures nécessaires pour assurer les premiers secours aux accidentés et aux malades. Ces mesures qui sont prises en liaison notamment avec les services de secours d’urgence extérieurs à l’entreprise sont adaptées à la nature des risques.


Ces mesures sont consignées dans un document tenu à la disposition de l’agent de contrôle de l’inspection du travail.
