Article R4233-15-1 of the French Public Health Code

After having indicated on the ballot paper the pairs of candidates or the candidates they choose, the elector sends his sealed vote in the special envelope provided. This envelope bears the name and address of the council or delegation concerned by the election, as well as the voter’s identification.

The elector must not, on pain of nullity of his vote, make any other mention or sign whatsoever on the ballot paper or envelope.

Après avoir indiqué sur le bulletin les binômes de candidats ou les candidats qu’il choisit, l’électeur envoie son vote cacheté dans l’enveloppe d’acheminement spéciale qui lui a été fournie. Celle-ci porte le nom et l’adresse du conseil ou de la délégation intéressé par l’élection, ainsi que, l’identification de l’électeur.

L’électeur ne doit, à peine de nullité de son vote, porter aucune autre mention ni signe quelconque sur le bulletin ou l’enveloppe.
