In the “emergencies” field of intervention, the provisions of articles R. 4301-1 and R. 4301-3 are applicable when the advanced practice nurse is involved in patient management, for the most serious or complex reasons for referral and clinical situations, as defined by an order of the Minister for Health.
However, by way of derogation from the provisions of articles R. 4301-1 and R. 4301-3, for reasons for referral and clinical situations presenting a lesser degree of seriousness or complexity, also defined by an order of the Minister for Health, the advanced practice nurse is competent to take charge of the patient and draw up clinical conclusions, as soon as a doctor from the emergency unit is involved in the patient’s care.
