Nurses holding the State Operating Theatre Diploma or in training for this diploma, give priority to the following activities:
1° Management of risks related to the operating activity and environment;
2° Devising and implementing an individualised approach to care in the operating theatre and associated sectors;
3° Organisation and coordination of nursing care in the operating theatre;
4° Traceability of activities in the operating theatre and associated sectors;
5° Participation in drawing up, applying and monitoring disinfection and sterilisation procedures for reusable medical devices aimed at preventing nosocomial infections in the operating theatre and associated sectors.
During intra-operative procedures, the nurse holding the State Operating Theatre Diploma or the nurse in training for this diploma carries out the activities of circulator, instrumentalist and operating assistant in the presence of the operator.
They are qualified to work in all sectors where invasive diagnostic, therapeutic or diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are carried out, in the medical and surgical equipment sterilisation sectors and in hospital hygiene departments.
