I.-The nurse may prescribe, under the conditions defined in article R. 4311-3, the vaccines mentioned in the order provided for by 1° of article L. 4311-1 to persons whose age conditions and, where applicable, pathologies are specified by this same order.
The nurse declares the activity of prescribing vaccines, by any means that provides a date certain on receipt of the declaration, to the competent authority of the council of the order of nurses on whose roll he or she is registered.
The declaration shall state the surname and first name of the nurse and his or her identification number in the sectoral reference register of natural persons referred to in article L. 1470-4.
If the nurse has not received training in prescribing vaccines as part of his or her initial training, the declaration must be accompanied by a training certificate issued by a training body or structure that complies with the educational objectives set by order of the Minister for Health, providing information in particular on the characteristics of vaccine-preventable diseases, the traceability of vaccinations and the main recommendations of the vaccination calendar.
Vaccine prescription activity may begin as soon as the declaration referred to in the second paragraph of this I has been received.
II – Nurses may administer, under the conditions defined in article R. 4311-3 :
1° The vaccines that he or she may prescribe in application of I ;
2° Without a prior medical prescription for the injection procedure, the vaccines mentioned in the order provided for by 2° of article L. 4311-1 to persons whose age conditions and, where applicable, pathologies are specified by this same order.
III -The nurse shall enter in the vaccinated person’s health record or vaccination record and shared medical record his or her surname and forename, the name of the vaccine administered, the date of administration and the batch number. If this information is not recorded, he will enter it in the nursing record and issue the vaccinated person with a vaccination certificate containing this information.
In the absence of a shared medical file and subject to the consent of the person vaccinated, the nurse will forward this information to the person’s GP. This information is transmitted via a secure health messaging system that meets the conditions laid down in article L. 1470-5, where such a system exists.
