Article R4313-18 of the French Labour Code

The affixing on machinery or personal protective equipment, on its packaging or on any document concerning it, of any marking, sign or inscription which is likely to mislead as to the meaning or form, or both, of the CE marking is prohibited.

Other markings may be affixed to machinery and personal protective equipment provided that the visibility, legibility and meaning of the CE marking are not thereby impaired.

Il est interdit d’apposer sur une machine ou sur un équipement de protection individuelle, sur son emballage ou sur tout document le concernant tout marquage, signe ou inscription de nature à induire en erreur sur la signification, le graphisme, ou les deux à la fois, du marquage CE.

Un autre marquage peut être apposé sur les machines ainsi que sur les équipements de protection individuelle s’il ne porte pas préjudice à la visibilité, à la lisibilité ainsi qu’à la signification du marquage CE.
