The masseur-physiotherapist’s usual place of practice is that of the professional residence in respect of which, in accordance with article L. 4321-10, he is registered on the roll of the Conseil Départemental de l’Ordre.
In the case of practice exclusively at home, the personal address appears on the Order’s registration roll. It is considered to be the place of professional practice.
A masseur-physiotherapist may not have more than one secondary practice, which must be declared to the Conseil Départemental de l’Ordre.
However, where there is a shortage or inadequacy of healthcare provision in a given geographical area, to the detriment of patients’ needs or the continuity of care, the local council may grant authorisation to open one or more additional places of practice. The application must be accompanied by all relevant information on the conditions of practice. If this information is insufficient, the local council will request further details.
If the request concerns a sector located in another department, the departmental council of the association on whose roll the masseur-physiotherapist is registered will be informed.
The departmental council is the only body empowered to grant authorisation. If no response is received within two months of the date of receipt of the application, tacit authorisation will be deemed to have been granted. The authorisation is personal, temporary and non-transferable. It may be terminated if the conditions set out in the third paragraph are no longer met.
