Article R4321-9 of the French Public Health Code

Within the framework of the treatments prescribed by the doctor and during the rehabilitation undertaken, the masseur-physiotherapist is authorised :

1° To take blood pressure and pulse ;

2° During respiratory rehabilitation :

a) perform nasopharyngeal aspirations and tracheal aspirations on a patient with a tracheotomy or who has been intubated ;

b) administering aerosols of non-medicated products or medicinal products prescribed by the doctor, prior to or in conjunction with the application of decongestion techniques;

c) Set up mask ventilation;

d) Measure the maximum respiratory flow;

3° prevent bedsores ;

4° Ensure the non-medicinal prevention of venous thrombosis;

5° Contribute to the fight against pain and participate in palliative care.

Dans le cadre des traitements prescrits par le médecin et au cours de la rééducation entreprise, le masseur-kinésithérapeute est habilité :

1° A prendre la pression artérielle et les pulsations ;

2° Au cours d’une rééducation respiratoire :

a) A pratiquer les aspirations rhinopharyngées et les aspirations trachéales chez un malade trachéotomisé ou intubé ;

b) A administrer en aérosols, préalablement à l’application de techniques de désencombrement ou en accompagnement de celle-ci, des produits non médicamenteux ou des produits médicamenteux prescrits par le médecin ;

c) A mettre en place une ventilation par masque ;

d) A mesurer le débit respiratoire maximum ;

3° A prévenir les escarres ;

4° A assurer la prévention non médicamenteuse des thromboses veineuses ;

5° A contribuer à la lutte contre la douleur et à participer aux soins palliatifs.
