Chiropodists perform the following professional acts, without prior medical prescription and under the conditions laid down in Article L. 4322-1:
1° Diagnosis and treatment of :
a) Mechanical or non-mechanical hyperkeratoses, of various aetiologies or locations ;
b) Plantar warts ;
c) Ingrown toenails, mechanical or non-mechanical onychopathies and other epidermal or nail disorders of the foot, excluding surgical procedures;
2° Exfoliation and abrasion of the integument and phanera by planing, milling and grinding;
3° Treatment of the consequences of sweat disorders;
4° Hygiene care of the foot in order to maintain its integrity; when signs of loss of sensitivity of the foot are noted, reporting to the attending physician; monitoring and care of persons, whether able-bodied or not, who may present specific complications falling within the field of competence of chiropodists;
5° Prescribing and applying topical products for external use appearing on a list established by an order of the Minister of Health issued after consultation with the Académie nationale de médecine;
6° Prescription and application of dressings appearing on a list established by a decree of the Minister for Health issued after consultation with the Académie nationale de médecine;
7° Prescribing, making and applying prostheses and orthoses, onychoplasties, orthonyxies, orthoplasties, plantar orthoses and other chiropodic appliances designed to prevent or treat epidermal and nail disorders of the foot;
8° Prescription of standard therapeutic footwear.
