Article R4342-6 of the French Public Health Code

Orthoptists are authorised, on medical prescription or within the framework of an organisational protocol defined in this section, to perform the following professional acts:

1° Non-contact corneal pachymetry ;

2° Recording eye movements ;

3° Ocular optical coherence tomography ;

4° Corneal topography;

5° Non-contact preoperative ocular biometry;

6° Non-contact specular examination of the cornea;

7° Ocular aberrometry ;

8° Photograph of the anterior segment of the eye and the oculo-palpebral surface;

9° Photograph of both eyes in different gaze positions.

The results are interpreted by an ophthalmologist.

L’orthoptiste est habilité, sur prescription médicale ou dans le cadre d’un protocole organisationnel défini à la présente section, à effectuer les actes professionnels suivants :

1° Pachymétrie cornéenne sans contact ;

2° Enregistrement des mouvements oculaires ;

3° Tomographie par cohérence optique oculaire ;

4° Topographie cornéenne ;

5° Biométrie oculaire préopératoire sans contact ;

6° Examen spéculaire de la cornée sans contact ;

7° Aberrométrie oculaire ;

8° Photographie du segment antérieur de l’œil et de la surface oculo-palpébrale ;

9° Photographie des deux yeux dans les différentes positions du regard.

L’interprétation des résultats est de la compétence d’un médecin ophtalmologiste.
